Welcome to the Department of Statistics. We are one of the core departments of Dhaka College. Our mission is to build skilled professionals with quality education so that our students can apply statistics in real-life applications effectively. This department started its journey back in 1984. In the beginning, it only had HSC students with Prof. Md Khijir Hayat Khan as the founding departmental head. Degree students were first enrolled in 1990. The Honors’ and Master’s programs started in 1995 and 1998 respectively. Each year we take in about 140 students and almost 90% of our students complete their graduation with good results. It is our great pride that our students are not only successful in academic career but also in extracurricular activities like cultural rograms, Rover Scout, Red Crescent, BNCC, Quiz competitions and different games.
